Posted by Scott with No Comments

Entertainment Weekly and Michael Fairman are confirming that Will (Chandler Massey) will come out as gay and will begin a relationship with Sonny (Freddie Smith).

In the midst of persistent speculation, and seemingly some brakes put on along the way, it has now been confirmed byDays of our Lives that it is indeed Will Horton (Chandler Masseey) that will be revealed as another gay character on the canvas, following Freddie Smith (Sonny) who joined the show this past summer.

EW.com released this statement from Chandler Massey, about Will’s upcoming coming out story: “I’m thrilled to be able to portray my character in an empowering way that will show his struggle to accept who he is. It is my hope that this storyline will inspire others to be true to themselves as well.”

“DAYS Co-Executive Producer, Greg Meng explained, “Will’s sexual orientation will become obvious to the viewers as well as family and friends but his journey toward self-acceptance is expected to unfold over the next few weeks, the show says. We are excited to have the encouragement and support from both NBC and Sony to tell the inspiring story of a young man learning who he is as he defines and creates his relationships with others.”

EW.com also states that for now, the show won’t say whether Will eventually hooks up for Sonny.

BREAKING NEWS: Lisa Rinna to Reprise Iconic Role of Billie Reed

Posted by Scott with No Comments

The news broke today through Huffington Post, Michael Fairman and Soap Opera Digest that Lisa Rinna will reprise her beloved role of Billie Reed, off-screen on DAYS. Rinna’s return is being kept tightly sealed by press and by NBC. She will first air sometime in 2012.

Rinna is one of three actresses to portray Reed. Rinna debuted Billie in 1992, and remained with DAYS until 1995. In 1996, Krista Allen was recast in the role, and stayed with the series until 2000, when she left on her own accord. Rinna returned for several months in 2002, but left again in 2003. When DAYS approached Rinna to reprise the role again in 2004, she denied. The role was recast again with Julie Pinson, who remained in the role until 2008, when she left to series to join As the World Turns.

Posted by Scott with 1 Comment

Keep in mind, this is still good with the state of Daytime. Everyone should feel fine about DAYS’ place in Daytime, as they’ve gotten a renewal until 2013, with an option of 2014.

The ratings are out for the week of October 10-14th and Days of our Lives did not have a good week.  The rebooted series fell into fifth place of the five network soaps and lost 107,000 viewers.  Although, when you look close at the numbers not many viewers separate #4 General Hospital to DAYS, just 5,000 to be exact!

Arianne Zucker Interview

Posted by Sam with No Comments

Source: About.com

Nicole’s been through her share of men –- and husbands –- on Days of Our Lives; everyone from sleazy Trent Robbins to wealthy Victor Kiriakis to poor sap Lucas Horton. But she’s never found true love. What does Nicole keep doing wrong and how can she finally right things? Arianne Zucker weighs in on the subject.

With EJ running for mayor, and Nicole working as his campaign publicist, she’s insisting on a strictly business relationship between the two them. Do you honestly think that’s possible?
(Laughs.) I think Nicole is out of her mind, if she thinks this is just going to be business. However, she is trying to turn over a new leaf and put her foot down.

So why even take a job with EJ?
I think there’s a part of Nicole, that in a very strange way, wants to be close to EJ. She can’t trust him. She knows that. Yet, there’s this draw. There’s this fire. There’s this spark there. She can’t seem to get away from him. When she’s around him, she kind of…

JAMES SCOTT SETS NEW “DAYS” RECORD!

Posted by Sam with No Comments

Source: Daytime Royalty

In November 2011, James Scott (EJ) will appear in his 1,000th “Days” episode. Less than 1,400 episodes will have aired since Scott’s debut. This is the quickest any actor has ever appeared in 1,000 episodes, with Scott breaking the all-time record of 1,422 episodes set by Alison Sweeney (Sami) in 1998, and the all-time male record of 1,433 episodes held by Macdonald Carey (Tom) since 1971. Scott becomes just the 39th actor to reach the 1,000 episode mark in “Days” history. The ranking below shows the 39 actors in order of how quickly after their debuts they made it to 1,000 episodes.

Of the current cast, the next in line to reach 1,000 episodes could be one of this trio: Molly Burnett (Melanie), Shawn Christian (Daniel) or Galen Gering (Rafe). All three will be just above the 500-episode mark at the end of 2011. None of them will reach the 1,000-episode mark until late 2014 at the earliest.
